Aaah, summer! Makes me want to spend my days in the park rather than behind my computer screen updating my website. I’ve been feeling like the Hippo pictured above. Here are some updates though!
Two new Zoobles lines have been added to the work area. And below something completely different: a painted book cover for Dutch writer Leon the Winter’s latest: VSV. My painting is based on Automat by Edward Hopper. Great to do some other kind of work every now and then!

In summer 2011, audio designer David Kamp made some imaginary creature sounds. He sent these sound files to a bunch of illustrators, who then had to draw inspiration from these recordings to make artworks of matching creatures. Here’s my contribution.
You can hear the original sound that David sent me here on the Sound Creatures website. Be sure to check the other submissions as well!
Hey you! Here’s a bit of news.

This Saturday (August 6) I’ll be one of the 18 illustrators participating in the Spätkauf Kunst Aktion in Berlin. Spätkaufs are little night shops throughout the city, and we’ll be traveling from window to window in the Neukölnn and Kreuzberg areas. Brushes and paint, drinks, music, nice people, an afterparty, what else could you wish for? Some nice weather perhaps, although the weather forecast doesn’t seem to be very positive. Mad paint drip effects guaranteed. If you’re around, come say hi!

And, big surprise, some new Zoobles! I’ve added my work for the Pinegrove, Petal Point, Dee-lights and Mama Baby mix collections in the work area.

I’ve got a little publication in European Illustrators, published by Monsa.
