After having lived in Rotterdam for over 10 years, I decided it was time for a change. So here I am in Berlin, looking for an apartment. Until I’ve found something suitable, I’m staying at a friend’s place, where I built this fancy studio setup. The desk is supported by a disco light box, it can’t get any funkier than that.
I’ve just finished working on a cover and a big interview for the upcoming illustration issue of Computer Arts Projects magazine. So keep your eye out for that one!

If you happen to be in Amsterdam these days, go see the second solo show of my friend Marie Blanco aka Mijn Schatje at the KochXBos Gallery. The low res Internet picture above looks already great, but her work is even more impressive when taking a closer look at her fine art prints. There will be a fancy opening party this afternoon, see you there!
Storytelling by Mijn Schatje
Showing from today until May 9
KochxBos Gallery, Eerste Anjeliersdwarsstraat 5, Amsterdam.

Tonight, Kustaa Saksi’s THE HEROES will open in Amsterdam. The show will feature computer-generated 3D busts of Kustaa’s new series of war hero characters, large-scale never-before-seen prints of his signature landscapes, and an introduction to his new book of retrospective work “Off-Piste In The Land of Kustaa Saksi”. If you’re in the neighborhood, go check it. I can’t wait to see it, so I’m taking the train to Amsterdam right now!
The legendary Boudisque building in central Amsterdam plays host to Maxalot Pop-Up Gallery for Kustaa Saksi’s THE HEROES.
Private view: Thursday December 11th, 6-10pm
Exhibition: December 12th – December 30th 2008
Address: Haringpakkersteeg 10-18 (Former Boudisque), Amsterdam

I finally found time to have a look at the photos I shot in Bolivia some weeks ago. Busy market places, cholitas in colorful dresses, wonderful landscapes, it’s all there. You can see a selection here. All photos in classy square format! Hopefully some pics of my adventures in Buenos Aires will follow soon.

Just came back from wonderful Buenos Aires, where I’ve met great people and ate lots of bife de chorizo. I also helped my friend and former class mate Bert painting 2 murals. It was good to be away from the computer for a while, and to enjoy working in the sunshine. Too bad that sunny weather is a rare sight in Holland.
While walking around in Palermo, I came across the Sixfeet store. I’ve designed 2 t-shirts for them, and they just came out. You can see my yellow robot shirt hanging there behind the window. It was great to see my work at the other side of the world!

Introduction time! On the left: yours truly. The manly man next to me is Florian Schroiff of Fernstrg. He did some mean coding for this website, nice! And yes, we say NO to drugs and violence.
