Hello! In between working on my everlasting secret projects and drinking cocktails I found some time to update my portfolio. My illustrations for AOL and Göoo Magazine have been added to the work area.

In the meanwhile Computer Arts Projects 139 is out. Art directed by Alan Wardle, the collaborative cover of this character design themed issue is jam-packed with, well, characters. The street scene features my Little Shop of Horrors inspired creature as well. Go get it.

Grow Ups goes to Japan!

Grow Ups is an exhibition of eleven young Dutch artists whose work moves between mature art and childlike fantasy. The title indicates that the art contains strong influences from the artists’ childhood and adolescence. Mature themes come together with visual references to toys, television cartoons, comic magazines and video games of American and Japanese origin. Ultimately, this exhibition aims to connect the artists to their visual roots, with the hope of them being recognized as fully grown.

Parts of this exhibition were shown at CORROSIA! (Almere, the Netherlands) in 2008. On invitation of the Center for Creative Communications (CCC) the work is exhibited following a contest for curators. The show will be opened by Ms Omori, curator of CCC and presented by Grow Ups curator Renée Reijnders. You are welcome to visit!

I’m participating in Strychnin‘s anniversary group show called 7 year itch. This best of Strychnin show features more than 70 artists from all over the world. The exhibition will open February 12th at 7pm and runs until March 7th. Have a look when you’re around!

Note on commercial work:
Reason for the lack of updates lately is that for the last couple of months I’ve been working on 2 big commercial projects. Unfortunately I can’t put this work online yet. So although it may seem that I’ve been lazy, I’ve actually been really busy. I hope to show you updates as soon as possible!

Hi there! Here’s a little summer update. I’ve been working on some other projects as well, but they have to remain secret for now. Oh, the excitement!

Bit of old news, but I’ve also been part of the big collaborative cover for the character design issue of Computer Arts Projects magazine. 24 international artists worked on this:

Here you can see my Disco Bunny playing Deutsche Schlager hits: check those Tado’s shaking their Lederhosen! It seems that Jeremyville can’t stand this particular part of German culture anymore…

This month’s issue of Computer Arts Projects magazine is all about illustration, and all about yours truly it seems: it features a big interview with me and I was commissioned to create the cover image (plus a little how-did-I-do-that article). Issue 123 is in stores now, just look for a psychedelic looking jungle bear!

Whoa! Springtime has started in Berlin, the weather’s been awfully nice the last couple of days! Birds are whistling, people are eating ice creams, and I’m riding my bike looking for an apartment. I would almost forget about updating my website, I still did some work you know. As always, fresh illustrations have been added to the work area. Check it out, and then go play outside.

This exhibition features drawings made by school children from Nepal, and work by 16 Rotterdam based artists, like me! All work will be for sale, and the proceeds will go to the kids in Nepal. Oh! And look at this: it’s the 10 year anniversary cover for Publish magazine! Happy birthday Publish. As you can see, it’s a collaboration between 20 Dutch illustrators and designers. Organisation and art direction by that friendly dude called Zeptonn.
