The Dierenbescherming (Dutch organisation for protection of animals) needed a new mascot character for their kids department Kids for Animals, and after winning a pitch I got the job. I ended up drawing a curious and naughty squirrel, called Ikki. It’s quite different of the designs I made for the pitch, so if you’re interested you can take a look at the design process in this Flickr set.
On the website of Kids for Animals kids could customize the squirrel, using all kinds of animal elements. This personalized version of Ikki could be printed as a poster, sent as an e-card, or used as an avatar on the website.
Finally, for Kids for Animals magazine I made various illustrations featuring Ikki.
